I began my career at HearUSA in September 2020 as a Client Experience Specialist (CES) after graduating with my degree in Audiology and Speech Pathology. Not long after, I was introduced to the Hearing Instrument Specialist (HIS) Apprentice Program — an opportunity to train as a Hearing Aid Specialist and provide direct care for clients in Florida.
Within two months, I enrolled and began learning under my sponsor and other experienced Hearing Care Professionals (HCPs) who generously shared their time and knowledge with me.
Preparing for licensure during the height of COVID wasn’t easy. Regulations were changing constantly, and I often had to teach myself how to navigate the requirements. But with the support of my mentors and colleagues, I earned my license in 2022 and began floating between centers in South Florida before eventually establishing my home base in Jupiter in 2023.
Through that journey, I made myself a promise: one day, I’d pay it forward and support others the way I was supported. In 2024, I had the chance to do just that when I stepped into my current role as a Professional Development Specialist.
Now, I lead onboarding for newly hired CESs and HCPs, welcoming new team members each week! One of my favorite parts of this role is hearing the stories of new hires and the unique experiences they bring to the hearing industry. I’m passionate about actively supporting people, whether they’re just starting a new role or continuing to grow in their current one.
Learning something new can feel overwhelming when you’re unsure who to turn to or what resources to use. If I can ease that frustration or uncertainty, whether it’s on someone’s first day or their 600th, then I know I’ve done my job.
Looking back, what stands out most to me are the people I’ve had the privilege to learn from and work alongside. During my apprenticeship, I was fortunate to have a sponsor who guided me through the process and offered encouragement every step of the way.
Later, as I began practicing on my own, another colleague helped me build confidence, resilience and a deeper understanding of audiology. And today, my Professional Development teammates continue to inspire me with their kindness, knowledge and constant support.
